Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for—it's finally here, the first Almaren Olympics!
This thread will host our out-of-character (OOC) discussion of the Olympics as they progress and serve as a sign-up thread for all mapped nations wishing to participate.
The first Almaren Olympics will be hosted in Litore Neptune, Socialalia.
All nations and their athletes and teams will be automatically added to the official Olympics spreadsheet once they have signed up. Current national Olympic teams participating include:
There are two criteria to sign up for the Almaren Olympics:
1. Be a citizen of Almaren currently mapped on the Nation Roleplay Map.
2. Complete and post to this thread the sign-up sheet below:
To help you create names, Behind the Name gives lists of all sorts of different names from different countries and their origins and meanings. The Fantasy Name Generator also has a "Real Names" section.
The host nation, Socialalia (turtledude420 ), will receive a 2 percent bonus across their entire Olympic team for hosting the Olympics.
I will be using xkoranate to determine the results of each event.
The in-character roleplay will be organized on an in-character day-to-day basis.
On each in-character day, I will post the day's scheduled events, the expected frontrunners (based on their skill levels), and allow the roleplayers participating to offer their athletes' perspectives. After they have, I will post the results in each event and allow the roleplayers participating to give the reactions of their athletes and their nation through news articles and other in-chcaracter commentary.
Following the opening ceremony, the schedule of the Almaren Olympics will be as follows:
Day 1: Archery, and Athletics events
Day 2: Beach Volleyball and Boxing events
Day 3: Cycling Road and Diving events
Day 4: Equestrian and Fencing events
Day 5: Artistic Gymnastics and Rowing events
